I thought this was pretty rude

We were at my FIL's yesterday and BIL is in town visiting and staying with him..he's been down a lot lately because my FIL has cancer and is having some complications from surgery. Anyway, we were leaving and DH said "give grandpa and Uncle John a hug" and when Natalie went to hug my BIL he put his hand out to stop her and said "I don't do hugs."

For a little background I really don't know BIL well at all and we definitely are not close at all but I thought that was pretty mean to do to a 6 year old. Natalie got in the truck though and said "Uncle John is a weirdo" and started laughing.

My SIL is like that... and she owns a gymnastics academy where the programs start at children that are 12 months and walking through highschool. She doesn't teach the preschool program though. I actually remember when I was 12 weeks pregnant for the twins and they came over here for Thanksgiving and she actually said to me, "I'm going to tell you now that I don't like babies and I don't like holding them. So next year at this time please don't ask me to hold a baby or hand me one of them. If I want to hold one I will pick them up myself. I just want you to know this now so that I don't put you off in the future." I just chalk it up to that is the way that she is; she's a weirdo... but she does let my kids take gymnastics for free. LOL
