Bouncer, Swing, Jumper? Do I need All?

We have a bouncer and I know I need a swing but - then came across a "jumper."  What will you be getting?

 

Also - here's the adorable bouncer my brother and sister-in-law brought over last night!  We're going to be doing a jungle theme so it's just perfect!

I have a door jumper from when I had DD. She hated that thing.  I wouldn't get it now as they can't use those for a while anyway.

I wouldn't go without swing and bouncer. My DD hated the jumper...

we're planning to get a swing and go from there - if we think we need other stuff we'll just buy it as we go.

I think the bouncer and swing would be it- Alek hated both the bouncer and swing so i don't know what to do for Draven.

The jumper just seems like a waste to me- invest in a walker instead. we had the stationary one where he could walk around in a circle to play with the toys- we knew where he was and he loved it-  no jumper... phooey

I never had a jumper, but my son hated his swing. I am going to try it again with this baby. He did love his bouncer chair. I would start with the bouncer and swing then work your way up. Like the other poster said you won't need everything right away.

I don't think a jumper is necessary. My baby sister had one but preferred her walker.

Probably not all.  DS loved the swing and actually slept in it for the first couple of weeks.  It was so helpful when he had colic.  I kept the bouncer in the bathroom and would put him in it while I took a shower.  He could see me (and I could watch him) and it kept him entertained.  We never did a jumper... we used the play yard/mat and the exersaucer though up until last month!

We found a 2nd hand but new bouncer - I think they are useful. You have to put the baby down somewhere, if only to pee!

We're not getting or registering for a swing or jumper. We feel like they are very big (we have a small house), not all babies like them, and you can only use them for a few months even if your baby does like them. However, we wouldn't be sad to get one as a gift if someone really wanted to give us one.

No, you don't need it all - although any baby store will tell you otherwise.  We're getting a bouncy seat and and exersaucer but, are not getting a swing or jumper.

I read that Jumpers are dangerous. I'm for sure getting a swing and probably a bouncer- I hope to find both at garage sales or consignment stores. I hear sometimes babies don't like them.

We are planning on the bouncer, swing and an exercaucer (when it's time) will try to get all 3 2nd hand since as pp have said you don't know what LO will like... that bouncer is adorable!

The swing was a life saver. Never owned a bouncer so can't comment on that, but we did have a jumper (a floor one). DD enjoyed it for a little while, but the more mobile she got (and she got mobile fast), the less she wanted to sit in a semi-stationary toy. Of course, it was a big help when I needed her to be occupied while I showered or cooked dinner...

I have a travel swing that I'll use until baby is too big for it, they are great when baby wants to be held but you can't because you need to do the dishes and cook dinner at the same time - the swinging motion lulls them to sleep most times.  I also have a bouncer, but the style of it I cannot put baby in it until they are holding their head up - so we don't have a bobble headed baby bouncing.  I also have an Exersaucer.  Love those things.  My first two babies loved them and were in them by the time they were 4 months old.  My SIL has one of those Jumperoos too that she said I could borrow if I wanted to (from her in-home childcare) - don't know if I will or not since I've got other things.
