I've been reading a bunch of online reviews about Disney in FL and a lot of them are really negative. People are saying Disney has gone downhill in the past few years, citing things like trash in the park, broken rides that aren't repaired, bad quality of food.
Disney used to put so much effort into making things "perfect," I'm wondering if their standards have dropped. If you've been there in the last few years, what did you think?
Re: Question about Disney in FL.
I just got back from Disney a couple of weeks ago and I tend to agree with the Negative Nancy's. Sorry -- I know it's like unamerican to say you don't like Disney. But, honestly, I didn't like it. It was also my first time going and DH had hyped it up so much. He remembers it from when he was a kid.
I thought it was dirty. Or at least nowhere near as clean as I thought it would be. I also had issues with broken rides. The merry-go-round broke while we were on it waiting for it to start. DH took DD by himself on the last day and he said he had an issue with a broken ride.
I also thought the other patrons at the park were extrememly rude. Grown adults were pushing kids out of the way to get to the characters and to get in front of lines for rides. There would be a line at a food booth and some jackhole would walk right up and jump in front of everyone. Those are just a few examples.
Having said all of that, I would take DD again because she loved it so much. It's an experience for my children that I will forever cherish. I'd like to go when I'm not pregnant and I will never again go in August.
Yeah....we will not go in August ever again. While I didn't enjoy it this time...I'm not giving up on it yet. I'm treating the trip we just took as a learning experience and there are things that I will do differently the next time we go!
I have not seen any decline and I can't believe anyone would say Disney isn't clean?!?!?! I've NEVER seen trash there and we got every 6 months or so!
At any rate, Disney is what you make of it. REALLY tough to go in August for the first time. While I have gone in the summer, and would again, we do things a bit differently than the "average" Disney traveler. Disney, IMO, ONLY works if you know you are going to go again. Trying to do a park every day for an entire 7 days (or even 4 days in a row) SUCKS and is likely to make anyone's experience skewed to the side of negativity.
