I thank him and tell him he did a good job for everything- eat, cleaning up toys, listening, sharing toys, doing a puzzle, being nice to Maren, etc. Seriously, everything.

I say "thank you for....", "I like the way you...", "You did such a nice job of..." When you do ________ you show momma what a big boy you are..."
several times a day for all kinds of things. Lots of "whoo hoo good job" and high fives. She's almost 3

If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me. For I must be traveling on now. Because there are too many places I've got to see. -Allen Collins & Ronnie VanZant
My favorite verse!
Probably a couple of times a day.? I try to save it for something special, something they're excited about. And even though I know it should be more specific I usually say something like "nice job!"?
For DS (18mos) if he picks up what he just threw, or throws something in the trash that actually belongs there, or stops doing something when we ask... or shares a toy, hugs his sister, does anything sweet, throws a ball.. "good throw, thank you for sharing with Sam, aww nice hugs that was sweet, thank you for putting that rock back down... "
For DD (3.5yrs) "hey nice somersault, ooh good coloring I like that picture, that was a good breakfast thank you for drinking your milk with it..." bla bla bla
Super often... I do it anytime she does something good. ?I feel like she should get some praise/compliments after all the Nos she gets, lol. ?She's super curious and is always getting into something, so I feel like that's all she hears!?
I try to be specific to what I?m praising him for. If he helps me with something, I say ?Thank you for _____. You?re a really good helper.? I?ll also say things like ?What a good listener!? Basically, I try to always react positively when he does something good or listens or is being funny/creative.
He will be 2 on Sept 24.
