My G'dad had two Aunts (they were sisters) named

"Lina" lee-nuh

"Nina" nigh-nuh.  (nigh as in night)

I thought that Lina was super pretty, but you'd be correcting ppl all the time.  And, Nina is just plain confusing=P

  • Hmmm. Nigh-nah is odd. I used to be on the same beer golfcart shift as a Lina. Memories!

LOL.  Good ol' Linas, I guess=P  My G'dad says that she was a firecracker of a woman.

  • I heart Grandpa-speak. You just don't hear that kind of stuff much anymore.

  • I hear that!  We should bring back the Grandpa speak;)
  • Actually Lina is a really common name here and so people know that it's pronounced differently than it's spelled.

Apparently I live in a weird area though bc Brittyn is a common name as well.
