2nd Trimester

Maybe my bread tastes weird...

Or maybe it's my mouth. How long after the 'sell by' date is bread okay?

  • I stop eating it when its 1. Hard 2. Smells sour or 3. has mold. LOL
  • I've been having that problem with all sorts of things.... love the super senses :)

  • Bread has tasted funny to me for awhile...almost like a sweet chemical taste...that is the only way to describe it.

  • I haven't been able to eat bread since I found out I was pregnant... one of the things that make me sick even into the second tri... but I wouldn't eat it more than a week or so past the "sell by" date... especially if it tastes weird.

Same here.  Most likely because bread is not made with the simple flour, yeast and water... it is all chemicals.  Since our taste buds are extra sharp we taste the chemicals.  My DH made me a few batches of homemade bread since I haven't had the energy.  Commercial wheat breat is the worst tasting to me for some reason.

Along with cooler weather comes my 2nd trimester (5 days to be exact) so that should make for good bread baking time and hopefully the energy will return soon too!  Check allrecipes for good recipes!
