Tell me about it! I've bought jeans, cords, casual t's and sweaters for fall/winter....then had to go and add work pants, blouses and dresses onto it. I think people would have a heart attack if I actually added up my total spent so far:(
Tell me about it! I got a pack of their undies and decided they aren't worth it! I got the regular old Hanes and like them better.
I got a jean skirt, cardigan, and capris from there for back to school. They were all on "sale." I dropped 90 bucks, too!
Target, Kohls, and consignment shops have been better for me. I can't see spending a lot on clothes that I'm going to wear for just a couple of months! I've been really lucky and am borrowing a TON from friends and coworkers.
See, and I LOVE the undies I bought there. They are the fold over ones and although they are hideous and ugly, man are they comfy!!
Target's maternity section is a joke around here...unless you want to buy one pair of jeans and the same tank top and t-shirt in 5 different colors.
Since I don't work I've been living in lounge and yoga pants since I really popped a few days ago. I decided it was time for real clothes so I'm slowly buying pieces here and there as I need them.
I've been able to get away with clearance racks at Target so far, but, as for panties, I just buy the Target thongs that are on sale for 5/$15 and buy them one size up. They'll be all stretched out post-baby anyways, and then I'll go back to wearing my Victoria's Secret thongs
Luckily I can wear jeans to work because slacks, skirts and dresses would have cost me a small fortune, too! It's like gasoline and milk: they can jack up the prices because you NEED it....
i love my maternity panties!!! I think they are so worth it! BUT!!! DH made me promise to get rid of them after LO arrives! They do make your hiney look a little large! I have spent tons on materinty clothes! I teach school and we don't even get to wear jeans on friday like most schools! It's been rough! I hope I can keep my size and store the clothes for next time!
I spent 92 at motherhood yesterday! I ran in for one dress and came out with a dress leggings another dress and a shirt I actually think I did pretty good for all I got. But you are right it is so expensive!
Ok when will I need to buy actual "maternity panties"? I've been wearing my normal VS thongs and/or bikinis and they've been normal...
In my opinion, you don't. I refused to waste the money when all my other panties worked just fine. All I wear are thongs so I don't have to worry about covering a widening posterior or anything...as I said previously, I just bought some cheapies in the next size up so they aren't too tight!

You may not need to. A couple months ago I bought my normal underwear a size larger. The problem for me is that the elastic band was just so uncomfortable. I was having this horrible pain/pressure/cramping going on....right at the level where the top of my undies sat.
I tried some maternity underwear and that all went away! So for me, maternity underwear were the better choice. For some, they are not. It just depends on what's comfortable to you!
This reminds me I need to buy more maternity underwear!! I only bought 6 pair and I don't do laundry frequently enough so I keep running out and wearing my old ones that don't really fit anymore!

I recommend getting some non-thong undies to have on hand because one day hemorrhoids may just suddenly appear....especially in your third tri!
I spent about that on Old Navy's website. I don't really like the quality of clothes at Motherhood Maternity, they seem like they aren't put together the best. It didn't stop me from buying a couple cute skirts for work and a pair of capris though.

Yes, maternity stuff is SUPER spendy. I dropped over $500 on just stuff for work (still don't have any casual clothes), but what can you do?
Sadly I am one of my first girlfriends to have kids, so there's not many people to borrow from.
