What have you made lately?

I love projects than can be played with! This ladybug is made from two mini paper plates, some googly eyes, a foam head, paint and big black sequins. DD likes the moving wings!image

Another one with moving parts. What do you do when your kid asks to make an elephant?! I cut the pieces out of a paperplate and showed DD how to mix black/white to get gray. I'm sure lots of you could draw this better - his ear just isn't right. It was hard! But he sure is cute!

Another DD project. She wanted to make a jaguar - yikes! We just started the letter J, so I drew that on a large paper. I used glue dots to stick jaguar spots cut from foam onto a paper towel roll. It was like a rolling pin. We rolled that into black paint then onto our J-is-for-jaguar paper. DD really liked this (it would have looked better if we'd stopped rolling sooner, but it was fun!). I can't wait to try this with something else stuck on the roll!

  • I used a hole puncher and brads (they're red on the ladybug and white on the elephant), so the wings, trunk and ears move. Sorry if I didn't mention that!

Awww, thanks. I think it's the oversized T-shirt and hideous pacifier - they flatter every woman!

  • so much fun!  I bought a couple of plaster animals at Michaels and I am going to let her paint them.  I am so bad about crafts.... but i know she likes to paint so she should like it pretty well.
