Was I wrong?

DH and I got into a little argument. I asked if he would take the boys to visit his mother on his own w/o me. My allergies are horrible today, but I knew the boys would enjoy visiting at their campsite. I take them 2-4 times per week on my own. He got pissy and said only if I was going to do things around the house. Is it wrong of me to want a couplee of hours to myself? Do your husbands expect you yo be doing something family/house related if you do not have the kids?

Sadly, this is the reoccurring argument in our household too.

No, you weren't wrong. I ask DH to take the kids all the time to give me a break. And sometimes during my "break" I do stuff around the house, but other times I do nothing, or go get a pedi or something like that.

Definitley not wrong.  you take them 2-4 times a week on your own?  That's insane to me.  I think that alone should get you a medal.

You are NOT wrong.  When it comes to dividing and conquering where the kids are concerned...what I do when he has them is my business....meaning, if I want to spend that time getting a mani/pedi I do, or nap or clean or buy groceries or exercise, etc.  Stand your ground!

you are not wrong, however I never get me time alone w/o kids so I'm clearly better at asserting myself in theory than reality.

Not wrong, but I would kill for a few hours just TO clean the house without 2 kids undoing everything, much less have me time!
