I had posted earlier that my doc is having me use a glucometer to determine if I will continue on Metformin. I have done 3 tests today:
fasting: 94
breakfast: 128 (I probably had over 100 carbs--V8 V Fusion is 43 alone!)
lunch: 124
I know the 1 hr is different, but what number is a "failure"?
Re: What qualifies as a failed 1hr glucose test?

I had gd with ds. My fasting number had to be below 95 & my 1 hr had to be below 140.
eta: My fasting number was usually somewhere in the 70's. 1 hr numbers were usually in the 100-120 range.
These are very high goal numbers.
Typically, a one hour post-meal goal for GD is <140. Two hours post-meal goal is usually <120.
Fasting should be <95.
The One Hour screening cutoff varies by doctor. Mine requires a number (after the glucose drink) of under 140. Some are more or less aggressive.
