2nd Trimester

what should i expect...

a while back, i was told at a pap smear that i had a tilted cervix. i didnt think much of it. i was in the ER for pretty bad dehydration and when they checked my cervix, the dr kept repeating "man, youre really far up there" and all this kinda stuff about how she could barely get to my cervix, and that my labor is going to be long.....what does all that mean?!?

  • I think it might increase your risk of having a c/s but I'm not 100% sure about that.
  • A tilted uterus usually presents no problem during pregnancy. The uterus tends to straighten itself out by the second trimester as it grows and fills your lower body cavity. In some cases, however, the uterus does not reposition. As it enlarges, it continues to push towards the back. Eventually, the baby runs out of room to grow and premature labor could occur.

I just found this online ... I have a tilted uterus too and my OB doesn't seem concerned at all.

  • I was told that in most women a tilted cervix will correct itself at some point during a pregnancy.
  • mine corrected itself. It was more difficult for me to get pregnant, but my doctor said I should not be concerned and as the baby grows my cervix will straighten out. At my last exam she said it was perfect!
