3rd Trimester

Another BH question

My entire belly has been getting really tight every once in a while. It's happened a few times over the last week, and it's never painful, just weird. It lasts for like 5 minutes, and then gets softer again. Does that sound like Braxton-Hicks, or like the baby is just shifting into a strange position?
After 7 failed IUIs, IVF w/ ICSI worked!!

I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.

And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!

Re: Another BH question

  • If your whole belly is hard as a rock its a contraction. As far as braxton hicks go my dr. told me not to refer to them that way in 3rd tri because you don't really know the difference without checking if you have dialated.

  • My stomach doesn't get rock hard, just tight.  I didn't even realize they were contractions until I was at the doctor and he told me I was having one.

  • yep, sounds like it. Assuming it's all over and not just in one little spot. I get about 8 throughout the day and then around 3-6 an hour in the evening before DH gets home to help me out w/ DD. Everything's fine though but you should always mention it to your OB. Actually, they'll probably start asking you anyway :)
