We're stuck! What about Liam?

If we have a boy, we want to name him after our grandfathers.
William Peter Vetrano and Willie Upton Rogers.
The problem is, our last name is Whitney. I don't want william as a FN (he would have a uncle with the same name and possibly a cousin and i dont like Bill as a nn), and is sounds stupid as a MN with our LN. and Liam is the last or william, so what do you guys think?

Or any other ideas???

Liam is nms but it works. I also like Peter. Liam Upton Whitney is cute. I don't like the initials when you do Peter Upton Whitney (PUW).

I like Liam but I just want to say I don't think William as a MN is at all off limits with Whitney. It's a MN, for starters, and while maybe it's not ideal, it doesn't sound at all bad.

Liam is nice but does not honor Willie in any way, so in that case I would go Liam Upton if you go the Liam route and really want to honor both.

Otherwise I think FN of your choice with William as a MN really could honor both.

I like the name Peter, too, but my dad, Richard, who goes by D*i*c*k begged me not to do it. Just a thought.

Liam was for sure on our boy list, but a friend already used it recently for their son. But I adore that name!!

I love Liam!! William is also a family name for us, and if we ever have a boy, our family tradition would be for him to go by his MN with William as his first name. I floated the idea of Liam before we found out this baby is a girl, but DH wasn't so keen on it.

Liam was our boy name, but this little one is a girl.  ours was going to be Liam Bruce_____.

I think it is a cool name- and I don't even think about it being a miniscule of William.  To me it sounds strong, classy, and dignified.  Go for it!!

Sorry, but I strongly dislike Liam. I don't see the appeal of this name. It's becoming really trendy. William as a middle name would sound fine with Whitney. I really like Peter as a first name.
