Heart pounding?

Everytime I sit or lay down I can feel my heartbeat all over my torso. I mean in my back, my chest, and my stomach....anyone else? Sometimes it makes it hard to sleep...my BP is fine...can't figure out why, is this normal?

Re: Heart pounding?

  • It's been happening to me too - doc says it's normal and because of the increased blood volume.

  • I wish someone would have been able to tell me this when it was happening to me.  I actually experienced the exact same thing.  You feel like your heart is beating 100000 times a minute but when you check your pulse it is normal.  It lasted for about 2-3 weeks right around the time of pregnancy you both are at.  It goes away.  And it is normal just like the PP said it is due to increased blood volume.
  • Thank you so much! That makes so much sense! And I'm glad to hear that it goes away!
  • Yes! It's especially bad when I am trying to go to bed at night. I feel like my heart is going to pound out of my chest and that it is going real fast. it's not every night but I do get it enough

  • It was driving me crazy because I was waiting for those first movements and all I could feel was my heartbeat.

  • Its scary, but good to know it goes away.  It freaked me out the first time, but Iike was mentioned earlier, glad it goes away!
