When to register?

My hubby and I are so excited about expecting our first, and are anxious to go ahead and start registering.  Is it too early to register at 17 1/2 weeks?  Our shower will probably be in November some time.  Any opinions?

If you aren't finding out the gender, or already know then no! We didn't find out gender with DD and registered around 18 or 20 weeks. This time we do know but still haven't registered yet!! haha.

we registered for DD when I was 20wks;  17.5 isn't that far off....go for it.  However, check it occasionally as manufacturers change styles, fabrics etc every so often and what you register for now may not be available in Nov.  A lot of girls registered early (when I was pg last time) and then were bummed that most of their stuff got discontinued.

Any time you want. But remember to check it every now and then for items that may be discontinued. We did ours early b/c we knew DH's family would be doing a shower for us Labor Day weekend. We started it before we knew it was a boy so we went back and added to it.

nope!  the earlier the better!  i registered for my dd at 18 weeks (right after i found out it was a girl!)

Thanks everyone!  We aren't finding out so we just want to get things done before the holiday season arrives.
