We have this one and it's really awesome! You can set it so it turns off after a set amount of minutes and you can also set the max. volume it will turn up to.
We've got this and it isn't our favorite....it is fairly hard to get music on it, and the music has to be from an actual CD (at this point most of our music is downloaded, we haven't bought a CD in a long, long time.). I tried to add some new music for DD lately and it wouldn't accept my music files from my hard drive so I had to burn them to a disc and the stupid thing still wouldn't accept the songs.
As for the durability, it is fantastic and easy for DD to use. We also have the speaker type dock for it and DD loves to carry that around.
If the majority of music that you want to add is from an actual CD so that the Fisher Price software can convert them into their special FP3 files, then this will work fine for you. Ours is a couple of years old, so maybe it has changed since we got ours.
