18wks and have to change dr. WWYD?

For the past 3-4 years I've had a hard time finding a OBGYN that I like & who is affiliated with a hospital that I trust. I finally found one a year or so ago. I went when I found out I was pregnant and discovered that my dr was also pregnant, put on bedrest and not coming back. I thought I could just see her partner but he stopped delivering and is just doing gynecology.

They brought in a new group of drs who are great and nice but I was "misinformed" at my first visit with them as to what hospital they are affiliated with. Now, instead of delivering at a hospital 20 mins away, (LIJ) where a lot fo my friends delivered and highly recommend-- I would have to deliver at a hospital I have not really heard too much about, which is over an hour away. (North Shore Plainview)

(I live in Queens, NYC and traffic can be HORRENDOUS)

I'm really not comfortable with this new situation and I want to change drs. I have only seen one dr in particular every appointment so far, who I really like but I also found out that she doesnt really deliver as much as the others on the group since she has 3 small kids of her own. SO at this point I will be "just" getting to know the other new drs in the group anyway if I stay so I figure why not just switch, get to know a new dr that is affiliated with a hospital that is closer and more reputable.

I am NOT a difficult person, and I am really HATING this situation but I feel strongly about switching. Just wondering what you gals think, and what you would do in my situation.

i've heard really great things about NS Plainview, especially about their maternity dept...you're still early enought that you can interview OBs and find someone that you trust.
