So..the school that I sub at occationally in my neighborhood needs a 1/2 time kinder teacher due to higher than expected enrollment. I would work m-f from 8-12. I have a 5m old and a 3 year old. This is my "dream job" once the kids are in school. HOwever, right now I just can't wrap my head around leaving them at the sitters for those hours. I LOVE our days together and our routine and I don't want ot give that up. I Feel I'm being a bit selfish and that small amount of work would REALLy allow for us to get ahead financially and I do love teaching...hmmmm......... there would be no commute (in my neighborhood) and I know most of the staff. I live in a town of about 6000. anyway, talk up working 1/2 time to me.... I just don't want to do it. I have the weekend to think about it. I have an interview and there are a couple others scheduled for early next week. THANKS!
Re: working 1/2 time
are you in deep debt? do you need the money? does this type of opportunity happen often enough that you think maybe in a few years it would present again? what does your dh think?
I understand how tough that is... mornings are when we do much of our out and about activities and exploring... then my kids nap much of the afternoon... but then if you work in that time period... maybe they could go to more of a MMO type program for starters... nap... you can prep dinner while they nap.. then have a blast after naptime and just reheat dinner when dinnertime rolls around. Still have fun times and special moments... but have more cash to do fun stuff on the weekends. ??? IDK... really depends on whether you need the money or not.
