I mean, unhappy in general. My 9 month old is just a grumpy baby. No matter what I try, nothing ever works. She's perfectly healthy, so there's no real reason for it. She's been like this since about 2 months old.
I guess I'm looking for hope here. Today it's just hit me really hard-that I just don't like my baby. She's not fun to be around, ever. I love her, of course, but I just get so worn out by the end of the day trying to take care of a fussy/unhappy baby.
Please tell me that this is something she'll likely grow out of, and she'll be the best toddler ever! Please....
Re: Anyone have an unhappy baby?
I have a friend who says her first 2 were grumpy. They are now very happy children, 2.5 and 4.5 years old. I didn't know them during their grouchy phase, but she says they cried all the time. I have no idea how long it lasted, but there is hope.
Hopefully Sydney will snap out of it soon! Hang in there, Sum!
My DD cried and fussed for her first 6 mos., at least. I started wearing tennies in my house b/c I spent 6+ hours every day just pacing/bouncing her. It made the first year seem VERY long, even looking back on it now.
At almost 2.5, I think she's a pretty happy kid. She's got her moments, but in general, she's great. (For an example, whereas many 2 yos say "No!" to everything, she always says "Yes!") GL! I can't imagine how hard that is, esp having an older DD. Hopefully this phase will pass soon!
It's all day. If I'm not holding her, she will eventually start to cry. No matter what, no matter where. She could've just been fed, changed, the whole nine. She'll still cry. And when I'm holding her, she's wiggling all over the place and fussing. Her big sister is really the only one she likes.
I wish she had reflux. At least then I'd have a real medical reason for her unhappiness.
We have her 9 month appt next week, and I plan to ask the pedi about this stuff, but still. I'm just so done. She's making me question my judgement as a mother. I'm wondering if I should've just stopped with one.
