I will for sure talk to DC's doctor, but I'm thinking now simply because I will be staying home with the kids this year..so they won't be exposed to kids in daycare or the students that I normally work with..so I'm not sure that they will need it. I could be completely wrong though (going out and about to stores/outings) and will take the pedi's advice into consideration.
Carson is due for his two year check and will be getting the regular flu shot then and i will talk to the pedi then. but the vax isn't out yet is it? i have a fb friend who just posted her son (after 3 days of school) has the flu, he tested postive for type a and is being treated for h1n1, only after 3 days of school, between that and mamanikkis post below i am just scared. Carson had the flu for the first time this past March and it was awful, dh got it from him but i never did. anway, i am not worried about us just Carson. it is unnerving that they are disturbuting the vax without much research/testing. i hate making decisions like these, as if the mmr crap wasn't bad enough.,,,,gah!

I know what you mean!
I, myself, have to get both. They are requiring that we get the flu shot and the h1n1 shot for nursing school before December, or you're out of the program. I plan on calling our pedi and seeing what his advice is for DS. If I was a SAHM I'm not sure that I would. However, since DS does go to daycare everyday and...well, you saw my post. 4 cases within 24 hours! I am scared for sure. I am also nervous to see how many that number will climb to come Monday morning. So, bottom line, I'll be seeing what our pedi says.
We won't get it. I don't think the long term effects will have been studied enough and we already selectively vaccinate. We don't do the regular flu shot and none of us has ever been sick. I think a lot of these sicknesses get blown out of proportion by the media. If one of us was immunocompromised we probably would but since we are healthy I think we will be fine.
I'll have to get it for work. Not sure if DD will... depends on the info avail at that time. So far, we've heard that if you/DC was vax'd w/ the regular flu shot, that should have some lasting effect on h1n1. Oddly, they also say that the regular flu vax only lasts 3 months, which would mean it wore off by January of this year. Bizarre.
