Hi everyone,
I posted on the TTC board and thought this would also be a good place. My history is IVF #1=BFN, FET=chem. beta-14, IVF#2=BFN, and now FET#2-
We had one lonely 6dt blast left. It was perfect, hatching on the day it was frozen. Well, on the day of thaw it had not finished re-expanding to its original state (hatching) when it was transferred.
I got a bfp the first time I tested on 7dpblast transfer (not sure whether to count it as 5 or 6 day because it was still re-expanding). On 8dp5/6dt I begged the nurse for early beta. It was 62.1. Now I have to wait until Monday for the next one. My question is, has anyone else had a beta starting this low and what was your experience (GOOD and BAD-give it to me straight). It seems quite low compared to others. Thanks girls!
Re: 1st beta= 62.1-FET-experience/opinions?
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
Take it and run with it!!! My first beta was 51 (i think, see siggy). Good luck, you are knocked up!!!
Meg
my 1st beta was a 64 and the next one was a little more than doubled and even #3 was a good 100 more than doubled. however, at my u/s i did find out from my RE that by the 3rd beta he was hoping for a # between 800-1000 (mine was a little less than 1/2 of the lower end of the range). but, we saw a heartbeat at the 6w2d u/s and the next one at 7w2d showed an expected 1 week of growth and an increase in heart rate (went from 118 to 138). my hcg also finally got closer to normal range at the 1st u/s, too (even though it was still a smidge less than the lower end of the range--but no where near 1/2 of that number). i didn't get the hcg results from the b/w i had w/my u/s yesterday.
basically, i share all that to say to not give up hope, but to also stay cautious though the process. my dr. was very encouraging after my 2nd u/s yesterday.
my beta after my first FET bfp was 42 (can't remember the dpo) and the nurse warned me it might not be viable. well the beta went on to triple within 48 hours, and we saw a hb at 6 weeks. We did m/c that one, but I was still encouraged by how the betas rose so quickly after the initial low one.
good luck!!!
Yes, mine was in the low 60s around the same total time as yours (fresh transfer though) and he's turning 1 tomorrow.
Congrats!

Hey there!
I don't think you need to worry at all - FET's always start out much lower. My FET beta #1 was 9dp5dt and it was 144. My RE nurse has told me to expect that I could easily have twins. So, 62 would sound great for a singleton! I don't know that it's even possible for me to have twins, but I definitely think it's possible for you to have a healthy singleton!
Good luck and congrats!!!!!!!
