Just got an e-mail with information for the upcoming pre-k year for Jack. We just moved so this is a new school that we found. I thought I had all the tuition fees and dates squared away. Then in the e-mail it lists "activity fees" for enrichment classes. Every day is a different thing. Jack only goes 2 mornings a week. His days are Spansih and pizza at lunch. They want an extra $250 a year (12 dollars a month) for these things. I was not notified about this when looking at the school or registering. We do not have any extra money, especially for pizza every week for lunch.
Would you pay for this? I think it should be our choice if we want him to do these things or not. Opinions?
Re: Would you pay for this?
Do you even have a choice? It is optional or mandatory? I mean, if you didn't pay what would happen? What would he do during Spanish/pizza time?
ETA: It really sounds silly, IMO. I just don't understand why schools just don't adjust their fees/tuition to cover these type of things. Why charge a separate fee?
