Question about HSG's and treatment

Hi Ladies -

Since AF didn't show up yet (dumb whore) it looks like with vacation scheduled I won't be able to do HSG this cycle and need to wait until next cycle.

So my question is can I do HSG and IUI in the same month or do you have to wait a cycle after HSG to start IUI's.

Thanks

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Re: Question about HSG's and treatment

  • i think that the month they do HSG,they dont recommend any conception, even natural..i *think* its something to do with the dye injected....

  • Don't you have to schedule an HSG a few days after AF? I doubt they would start an IUI the same month but I can't be sure

  • I had my HSG on like CD10 back in April and this month, my IUI was on CD11 so I'm thinking times may conflict and they'd have to be done on separate months. I don't know for sure though, this would just be my guess. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

    HSG have happen cd 7 - 10

If I did natural IUI Dr. T would monitor me starting cd 8

I don't think it will work out and then it means pushing back another month

    :(

  • My RE will not let me cycle this month. I just had my HSG a couple days ago. However, others on here have said they are cycling during an HSG month.

So, I have no idea what criteria the RE considers before making that choice. I just know that we were told to prevent PG this month.

  • don't know about an IUI, but we were told we were good to try on our own the month we had the hsg... sorry that doesnt really help you much Confused

  • I did. I think the HSG was CD 4 or 5 and then the IUI was CD 11 or 12.

  • I had my HSG done my first injectables cycle. In fact, I think I had just started shots when they did the HSG.

  • I did mine in the same month. I had my HSG CD7 and started clomid that night. I don't know if it makes a difference though that I was doing a clomid/IUI cycle and that I don't cycle on my own so my levels were still in the negative even though it was CD7. Hopefully not though and you are able to do them in the same cycle. Good luck!
