We aren't to IVF yet, but I'm trying to get an idea of if it's possible for us to afford it or not since we are all OOP.
This page: https://www.nccrm.com/financial-information has average local costs for my area, but I hardly know what I'm looking at!
Can someone translate it into plain english and tell me what it will cost per cycle for an average IVF?
I think I understand that it's normally $5925 for the retrieval/transfer, $3000-5000 for meds (really!!?!) and $1500 a cycle for monitoring, but what about the additional stuff will I have to pay?
It's so depressing to think that this could be $15k and might not work.
And just curious, how much does IUI usually run?
Thanks so much! I'm just so confused!
Re: Help with figuring out IVF costs from price sheet?
In addition to the med costs you will need a sperm analysis, anesthesia, not sure about the medical work up?.
ICSI and hatching is not needed unless your doctor suggests otherwise (Sperm issues, egg issues)
Drugs - Unless you are a poor responder you will most likely be paying the lower end of the scale.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

For us, IUI was around $800 - $1,000 per cycle.
For us, this last cycle, we spent about $2,000 on meds - so less than the average, I guess?
Our complete ivf cycle cost us 23,000 and this included everything. The only thing NOT included was embryo freezing and storage since we didn't have any embies that made it to freeze.
My clomid iui cycle ran 1000 a cycle and this included everything. My follistim iui cycle ran 3000 a cycle and again this included everything.
