We didn't find out with either of our babies. It was so much fun with Sara and I hope it will be the same with dc2.?

We didn't find out the sex and I loved that it was a surprise!  My most vivid memory of DS birth is when DS looked at me and said "It's a Boy"!!  When it comes time for #2, we plan to keep it a surprise again.

Both were surprises and I wouldn't have changed a thing.  Love it that way.

We found out the sex, but didn't reveal her name so that there was still some "surprise" factor when she was born. I think we'll do that again with futurechild.

I was a single mom with DS1 (different father, not involved) and opted not to find out, much to my parents and everyones disappointment. AND I didn't tell them my choices for names either! It was fun.   With DS2, DH wanted to find out, and I didn't really. But since it was his "first", we found out, and we told the name. It was fun that way too. To imagine a boy before he was even here, and to have people talk about him with his name, nothing like it.

I don't think you can lose no matter which you decide.

I found out both times.  good thing too, I don't remember much of dd's first 24hrs on this earth.  But we picked out her name by 26 wks... and I talked to her and read to her... bonded then.. It would not have been enjoyable to find at the birth b/c the birth was stressful as hell. with ds we found out again... but couldn't decide on a name.. so when dh spotted him and ds was held up dh yelled "He's Logan!"  that was exciting... I was just excited to be with it enough to remember it all vividly. for dd's I remember patches... like the people working on her... damn Mag Sulfate and Pree.

I found out and would never do it any other way. I loved getting all the cute blue stuff. and being able to call him by name.
