He had a rock in his eye today.Yes like a rock. It was 1/4 of an inch big lodged in his eye. Now there might be permanent damage. We are still in the hospital, they are keeping him overnight. This has been the worst day.
speaking of scratches and eyes and daycare. daycare must have put too much sunscreen on Carson's face b/c one day when i picked him up he was crying b/c it was in his eyes. i was LIVID! he cried all the way home and could not even open his eyes. daycare said they wiped off his face and tried to flush out his eyes. i got him home called poison control and she said to just put him in a bath and randomly pour water over his head as he was playing and the blinking motion would get the water in his eyes to flush out the sunscreen, i did it and it worked but it took a couple of hours for the red to come out of his eyes. but poision control told me that the sunscreen mixed with him rubbing his eyes could scratch is eye! who would have thought about that one? now daycare only puts sunsreen on the bottoms of his cheeks and he wears a sunhat. that was loads of fun.
abpdjs I hear you. I don't understand how they didn't see this. It was a rock! Might as well have been a boulder. I was too worried to argue with them when I picked him up since it looked awful, but tomorrow I will be speaking to them about it.

That's awful. I use Peter Thomas Roth's mineral brush on instant sunscreen for Jack. It works on contact and there is no eye irritation since it's a powder. My husband uses it on the golf course too even though some of his golf buddies make fun of him for wearing makeup.
OP - I will say a little prayer for your son. I hope he does not have permanent damage and you guys get to go home soon. Poor little guy and poor mommy.

Poor baby boy! I hope your night goes OK and they have good news for you tomorrow.
If it is any consolation, my mom had glass in her eye for several days and despite how awful it looked at the time, it didn't cause permanent damage.
I'd be so upset too! I hope he is okay, poor little guy.
