Napping's starting to get patchy, with shorter naps and a fair amount of no nap days like today, up since 7am EST and no nap. DS is 17 months. I'm thinking by Christmas naps are going to be history.
We have made them history just recently. No problems. A little dozy during dinner, but that's it. Nap time was a fight.. bed time took forever. Now things are much better. And she's going to bed at 7:30 or 8 again. Yay!
She did have a cold this past week, though. So she dozed a bit a couple of afternoons. But I think the transition will be complete soon. (It needs to be! She starts preschool in the afternoons on Tuesday.)
DD is still taking one nap a day, but she was always a poor napper until I discovered a new trick at 18 months where she slept longer on the twin bed in her room than she ever did in her crib. She went from a 30-45 minute nap to napping up to three hours.
I'd hate to lose naptime so early, so I'd suggest switching it up to see if you can find something that works better for him. Of course, there are some kids that just give them up earlier. If he doesn't seem like he needs his nap, he may be ready sooner.

She stopped about a month ago when we took away her bottle. I miss the naps so much. DS still takes a 3 hour nap and I used to get a break when they both slept. She is still adjusting to no bottle and was staying up late and waking up early which made her really grumpy. Last night was the first time she got 11 hours straight of sleep. I hope it lasts.
My older DD is 3 years and 2 1/2 months and still takes a nap most days. It ranges from 1 -2 hours. She has days where she rests quietly but never sleeps. Younger DD is 17 1/2 months and still naps 2-3 hours every day - every so often, she'll go 4 hours but not often anymore. I would strongly suggest that even if your child gives up naps that you still have a quiet time at the same time everyday - kids need that time to recharge.
Re: XP: When did your child stop napping altogether?

DS is still a 2-3 hour solid napper. I see him napping or quiet time in his room until he is 3 or 4 years old.
Personally, i think the earliest a nap should be given up is 2.5. I think most kids need quiet time until then for 1-2 hours.
