I BF my DD#1 and pumped for the daycare bottles. I had to toss all of my Br. Brown's bottles and I think I tossed the Medela's too. Which type did you get for your mostly BF kiddo this time around?
Also, which milk storage bags do you like best/least? I recall some leaked and punctured easily but my how much the mind forgets in 2 years...
Re: Second or thrird time new moms...what bottles?
I used playtex nursers. It was easy just to wash the nipples. My daycare was so great that they just ran them through the dishwasher for me. It was SO nice! I just had to give her a couple bottles and a some liners.
I pumped directly into some cheapy Gerber plastic bottles that didn't have BPA in them. They worked great with the pump and I just handed them off to daycare the next day to put in the playtex bottles.
I used Avent bottles with #1 & Born Free with #2 (#2 was super resistent to taking a bottle & this was the only one that worked for her.)
I used Gerber storage bags & they never once leaked. I tried Lasinoh once, but didn't like how they measured, I think. I foget the reason I didn't like them, but I remember prefering Gerber.
Though I had to wean early this time around, I used the same type of bottles I used with DD: Playtex Ventaire widemouth. For storage, I used the Medela bags -- I thought those were pretty sturdy and did well. Of course, I wasn't exactly packing them to the gills with my meager supply...
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
We use the Evenflo Classic plastic bottles--the cheapies.
My DS has absolutely no issues that require special, expensive bottles, like Avent or Dr. Browns, he will suck down his food any way it comes to him! It just made no sense to spend any significant money on bottles, as long as they held up. And these ones do.
I like the Lansinoh bags, they seem to hold up to freezing and thawing. I am also using the Gerber ones, but they do not have the double zipper that I like. As long as they are frozen flat and handled sparingly, these have both held up for me.
