Travel Stop?

When did you stop road tripping while PG with multiples? I have done "mini" trips ranging from 1.5-4 hours one way since I've returned from London, but am curious as to see when others put a hault to their travels.

My peri said I could do short travels until 32 wk mark, and now that I am 29 wks, I am feeling the itch to try and see some of my friends/family before returning to NYC after the girls are born.With Labor day weekend coming up, I would hope to take advantage if poss.

I by no means want to push my luck but would love to hear of those who did fine with mini trips up until 32 wks or so....

My last long car ride was at 30w.  I was already on modified bedrest, but my peri said that the car ride would be fine as long as I laid on my side in the back of the car and we stopped every hour or so to walk around and avoid blood clots.  My peri did warn me that I had to be prepared to have my girls somewhere else and told me to bring copies of all my medical issues just in case.  I had no problems.

At 32 weeks we went 3 hours away, I had horrible horrible swelling because of it. The doctor said it had to do with sitting in the car and the restricted blood flow, even getting out every hour did nothing to help. My doctor said 32 weeks was the cut off also and okay'ed the trip and gave me copies of medical records just in case. Aside from the swelling, I was fine.
