I know a lot of the other boards seem to have certain "rules and glossary" for the new people to learn the lay of the board. Does this board have anything like that? There are always unspoken rules, but I'm still not sure what they are here. Like a lot of you ladies have certain things in your siggy, but I'm not positive of what they all stand for. IE - SAIFW, I know means Success After InFertility Welcome, but does that mean if you don't have that in your siggy or specifically say that those women won't comment on your page? I figure I'm not the only one wondering!
Re: For all the new people joining this board...
Most girls put SAIFW just to let the SAIF girls know that it is okay to reply to your posts. Otherwise they don't want to reply and offend anyone with their tickers.
There is a lot of talk of Drive-by BFPs recently and that is a big no-no here.
There might be more but I can't think of any right now. I am sure someone else can help!
I think the standard lurk before you post, don't be a_douche and don't post a drive-by BFP apply here, as they do most TTC boards. Other than that, this is a very welcoming and helpful group.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
what is key with this awesome post, is that you are ASKING! honestly, everyone here is ridiculously nice, and if you're not sure what something means (not you specifically but for all of us), all you need to do is ask! a lot you can pick up just by lurking for a few days, but if something is confusing or doesn't make sense, it probably took the rest of us a while to figure it out, too, so we're more than happy to explain.
welcome, again, and good luck on your journey!!!
Because we're fancy like that.
Here's my take and correct me if I'm wrong ladies
SAIF'ers will alot of times not post in a thread unless they see some sort of indication that the poster will not be offended by a ticker or pics of LO's.
As far as board ettiquete, I think most of us just want to know a little bit about your journey so that we are able to better understand what path you have taken and are able to give advice on what we know about that path and where it could lead... It does not mean that you have to have something in your siggy, but a little background within your post or question is very helpful.
hth and best of luck to you

my blog
I found a great page with a bunch of TTC lingo explained when I first came here and was very confused. I will try to find it and share it
oh..and if you arent comfortable having your whole history in your siggy, giving enough info about where you are in the process (ie, what meds, what procedures, etc) is helpful for posters. (I keep forgetting this...)
I'd say that the only other thing not covered by the pp's is that this board really doesn't do snark. Healthy debate is fine, and disagreement is totally acceptable, as long as it's done in a respectful way, but I think most would agree with me that we don't care for the drama over here.
That said, Welcome!
here are a few:

i couldn't agree more with reading the board's description before posting here.
and don't rub it in our faces that you've (not you specifically) are having so much trouble TTC after 3 months after already have 3 kids.
I would just like to say ditto to this. I have visited other boards and quickly left because of the snark! This is a great group of supportive women. Welcome and feel free to post any questions, you will get great supportive responses.
Thank you ladies!
If I would rather not have everything in my siggy about my journey is an intro again acceptable or is it really better to have something in my siggy?
Mousey - thanks for the links. I'll check them out now.
I think I fit in this group... we've been ttc for 2 years now. Off to find a saifw badge to find. One more question... FUIF - only one thing comes to mind not sure if I'm right on that one though.
