question Re: friends dad's death and a dream

So my friends Dad passed away last Friday, we were at his memorial service on Tuesday and DH was havinf nightmares all night, I kept kicking him because he was screaming in his sleep.

Yesterday he told me he dreamt of my friends dad and he told him to let his family know that he wanted the light on. I have no idea what this means and DH isn't a spiritual person AT ALL. Should I tell my friend?

I'd vote no. I lost my Dad about 2 yrs ago and that would really upset me if someone told me that.

Yikes.  I'm not sure I would tell them.  Some people are spiritual and believe in "signs" like that.  However, I wouldn't risk upsetting them.  Now if your DH kept having these kinds of dreams, maybe I'd think twice.

She is very spiritual and we've had funny conversations about her dad all week. I don't know.

I think I'll just keep it to myself for now. DH just said he kept saying, "please tell my family, I wanted the light on and he kept turning it off"

So weird, DH met him maybe once!

Yes I would want to know. If you are close to her and have been talking about him, I would bring it up. But I believe in things like that.

hey M. you said he was creamated, right?

the only thing that would freak me out about telling him was if he were buried and "wanted the light on". 

anyway--as a person who has lost both parents, I would want to know. It would probably be refreshing to know that her dad is "communicating". Yes, I do believe in all of that...I've witnessed it with the death of my mom. it's comforting.
