NBR: WHY DO PEOPLE EMAIL IN ALL CAPS???

Random pet peeve, but does it drive anyone else nuts when people email an entire message in caps or bold?  I feel like I am being shouted at, it's very distracting. 

This isn't meant to be another MIL, vent but she has been stalking me and emailed me this a.m. in all caps.  She always does this though no matter what the message. There are a few other people who I email who bold everything.  It really bothers me....then again everything does these days! haha

Haha...I hate it too. I think they are just not computer savvy and don't get what it really means!

That's ridiculous.  The only person I know who does that is one of my grandmas.  Even my 71-year-old great aunt is hip to the knowledge that you don't do that.

My mom does this! I think she just doenst realize she has caps lock on...and no matter how many times i tell her to stop yelling at me, it never really sinks in!

I hate when employees email me in all caps to ask a HR question---its difficult to read when you write a whole paragraph in all CAPS.  Makes me want to email the response back in all CAPS but I never do!

I hate it too and my DH does this ALL THE TIME (lol).  He does it though because he works as an architect intern and they are required to put everything in the projects in all caps.  He just leaves his capslock on all the time.  Still bothers me though.  He writes that way too.

GLAD YOU BROUGHT THIS UP.  I CANT FIGURE OUT WHY MY IPHONE WILL ONLY TYPE IN CAPS ON THESE BOARDS.  I CAN PUSH THE CASE BUTTON BETWEEN EVERY SINGLE LETTER AND THAT WOULD WORK BUT IS A HUGE PAIN.  IS THERE A BUMP APP?  I DONT THINK SO.  IF ANYONE KNOWS WHY THIS IS HAPPENING, PLEASE HELP.  WHEN I TRY TO POST IT ACTS LIKE IT WONT EVEN PUT THE CURSOR IN THE BOX.  THE ALL CAPS THING ONLY HAPPENS HERE.  I CAN WRITE EMAILS FINE.  OK THANK YOU

I sometimes type a personal email in all caps because our work computer system only recognizes caps so sometimes I forget to switch back and forth. I usually only do this with my friends because they know about our work system and don't mind. I would never type a business email or on a message board in all caps.

My MIL does this too.  We confronted her about it SIL, DH and I.  She said that she is too afraid of making errors when she is typing and it's just easier to do it all in CAPS.  I think maybe she really needs glasses, whatever.  She isn't yelling.  But, sometimes it is funny to pretend she is, like when she writes, "HOW IS THE BABY DOING?"  It makes me laugh because it's like she is trying to get LO to hear her.
