Everyone on this board that works from home has childcare for their children or works when their spouse is home and/or kids are asleep. No company is going to pay you to watch your children.
Sorry to bust your bubble - working from home in a real (e.g. not direct sales such as Avon, MK, pamper chef) professional 8-5/9-6 job means having childcare.
I've worked from home in HR for a large technology company for 3 years and every minute of it I've had childcare!
Everyone that I know that works from has other daycare for the kids - either a nanny that comes into the house or the kids are out of the house at daycare/preschool. I honestly don't think you can work from home and take care of your child with no other help. You can't give 100% to either if you do. I work from home 2 days a week and in the office 3 days a week and my girls are in a daycare center (older DD in preschool program) FT. It works great.
So sorry, wasn't trying to assume anything. I'm just trying to figure out my options as far as being a working mom and wanted to know how everyone worked things in their situations. Thanks a bunch!

I'll be working at home 2X per week starting in January. Our nanny will be there to watch the baby. It will still cut down on childcare costs because I won't have my 45min - 1hr (each way) commute to worry about on those days.
I WAH for the first six months with my son. I did not have childcare, and my company did not have a problem with it. As long as my work was done they couldn't have cared less when I did it or whether my baby was in my arms or not. I did medical billing for a doctor's office. I had a good reputation and established trust with them because I worked for them through another company for 6-7 years, and then got hired by them directly once that company closed down. Obviously this was not a typical WAH situation, and not one that you are likely to find when looking for a job.

Just LOVE the immediate assumption that if people are WAH, their kids are there too. Wow.
