Infertility

It's over isn't it?

My BETA isn't until Saturday, but I just went to the bathroom and found some blood. It's brown, but still, it's blood. It's over isn't it? I am so, so sad, I was so optimistic about this IUI and in a second, all my dreams were shattered. Should I call RE or wait until tomorrow? If we start another cycle right away, would I have to go in for 3 day bw and all that?

Re: It's over isn't it?

  • I dont think so...I have the same issue right now with my IVF cycle.

I'm 8dp3dt (approx 11 dpo) and I started to have some redish/pinkish/brownish spotting since 2pm. I'm just as nervous but the nurse today said its most likely implantation spotting.

Don't give up until she rears her ugly head! gl!

  • I think maybe it's too early. Lots of girls have spotting and go on to get bfp's. Have you POAS'd yet or are you going to wait for beta? Good luck and try to hang in there.

  • It is not over until you have heavy flow. Many pregnancies can have spotting early on, I did. I hope everything works out for you!

I would wait on a phone call to your doctor, yes you need a cycle day 3 check at the start of every cycle to check for cysts and to see if you are all set to start a new round.

    Good luck

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Thanks girls, you made me feel better already, as did my wonderful DH when he walked in and told me lots of pregnant women bleed. I really do hope it's not over and that AF keeps her ugly face away.

  • I am so sorry all your dreams were shattered.  But it's brown blood, which doesn't necessarily mean you're out.  I would POAS.  I don't think you need to call your RE tonight.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I have not POAS I was told not to by my RE and I was told it was too early to do it now anyways. My trigger was on the 13th and IUI was on the 15th, would I get an accurate reading if I were to POAS now? I didn't test the trigger out.

  • I see.  Well, I think the trigger is probably gone 13 days later.  My REs told me not to POAS, but I did anyway.  ;)

  • Possibly if you used a 5 day early test. I'd wait until closer to Sat. though if you can and use FMU just to be sure.
  • Of course you're worried, but I wouldn't read too much into it.  Like others said, it's very common! Good luck.

  • No, I had spotting (brown blood) prior to my positive beta. It's not over till AF rears her ugly head!
