If you had hypertension.

Hey ladies, I was wondering if anyone of you were diagnosed with Hypertension during the late part of your pregnancy. 

I was put on bedrest 2 days ago because of this. I was also put on Ladelol* (spelling) I dont have Edema or anything else that could be Pre-E just hypertension. How long were you put on bedrest for?I have an apt tomorrow and I was wondering what to expect?

I had hypertension with out any other signs of pre-e and was pulled out of work and put on labatalol (sp?) at 33 weeks.  I made it to 37 weeks 2 days and was induced due to severe pre-e that developed almost literally over night. 

 I was on magnesium while they induced, but my bp kept going higher and it was decided that I needed to have the baby immediately and had a c-section.  It took me a while to stabalize and I was in hospital for 5 days and am still on high blood pressure meds.

Good luck. I hope that you aren't on bedrest for long, but don't take this lightly. Take your meds and call your OB if you feel off.

I developed PIH at 38 weeks.  I was doing NST 3X a week.  I was induced at 39w 2d because of it.  Never put on bedrest.  I wasn't working then anyway, and was spending most of my time on the couch cause I was so uncomfortable.

I have labile HTN (even before preg), and at 37 weeks during my office visit, my BP was high, I had slight proteinuria and a headache. They sent me to the hospital for the weekend. My BP was up and down (up with stress, down when I was calm --> labile), so they never gave me meds. And my 24 hour urine was negative. They sent me home on modified bed rest. I had to have an NST and BPP every other day...during one of them, DD's heartrate dropped into the 60s with a contraction, so they induced me then. After 24 hours labor with 0 progress, I had a c-section. It wound up being 1 week exactly of bed rest.

I was put on modified bed rest at 26 weeks because of hypertension. My bp skyrocketed at 37 weeks. It looked like Pre-E because of rapid weight gain and swelling but I never had any proteins. I was induced at 39 weeks because my bp was so high and my Dr didn't see any point in waiting it out any longer. The entire delivery the bp monitor was beeping that it was too high. so annoying.. my bp stayed up for the first two weeks but it is back to normal now .?
