HI,
Looking for some good lunch and breakfast ideas for DS for daycare.
He usually does oatmeal, yogurt, apple sauce, waffles, eggs for breakfast.
A vegetable and fruit for lunch. I have started sending sandwiches and cheese and ham roll ups. I'll also send left over but that's usually a vegetable and a starch he likes.
Feel like I'm running out of ideas.
TIA.
Re: Lunch ideas for 2 yr old
I cook double every single night and do leftovers the next day. DD eats what we eat. I think I'd go nuts if I had to plan a special lunch every day on top of dinner. I haaaaaaaaate meal planning.
lately for breakfast dd will have either pancakes and oj or cereal w/milk. sometimes i will make an egg, cheese, spinach omelet and save 1/2 for the next day. for lunch if you want to change things up a bit how about some type of fried rice? you can serve it at room temp or microwave for 20 secs. do you have a rice cooker or do you know how to cook sticky white rice on the stove?
today i made dd some chicken fried rice. just dice and cook some chicken and onions in evoo. add in some frozen diced veggies and season w/s&p and a little bit of garlic. at the end, fry an egg and dice it up and mix it all together. it sound complicated but it's really not - i usually cook the meat and veggies and keep it separate from the rice until it's time to eat then i will take a little and mix it up and microwave it.
you can make so many different variations of it using beef, pork, chicken or shrimp and different kinds of veggies and seasonings and you usually end of w/plenty of leftovers. hth!
