A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

That said, I've heard it more lately for girls but I totally disagree with the feminine spelling. If you're naming your daughter a masculine name, own it. It's masculine no matter how you spell it and I automatically judge those who use "special" spellings.

I think Elliott is just fine for a girl if you like it, but if you are just going to call her Elle, then name her Elle. My boss named his daughter Elliott and she has always only been Ella, and it drives me crazy they didn't just name her Ella, being as it isn't even kind of a shortened version of Elliott. He said it was to "give her options in the future". Nice, but the confusion will probably outweigh the "freedom" of choosing. But if you like Elliott then call her Elliott. I don't think there is anything wrong with it for a girl, as long as you don't mind a name that is used for a boy or a girl. I prefer names that are meant for one or the other, but not both, but that's just me.

Chemical pregnancy on June 2012.
I'm with the other PP - just go with Elle. Elliot is a boy's name and changing the spelling doesn't make it more feminine IMO. Boys names for girls sounds tired.

agreed. This is one we had on our list before deciding on Quinn for our son. I dont know why all the good boys names have to be taken over by the girls. Girls already have a wide variety of pretty choices!
Not a fan and I definitely don't care for your unique spelling (looks totally made-up). I say, if you're going to call her Elle, name her Elle. That's a very nice name and goes well with your DD's name.?
I love this name but DH said when the teacher reads her name she will assume the child is a boy. I, too, was trying to figure out a different spelling. We also liked Emmitt, and DH suggested spelling it Emmette. The only thing I have a problem with is the "ette" being the stressed syllable. Like being pronounced Ellie Ette. Or Em Ette. So I kind of ruled out both because it was too confusing. And many people will tell you it's too you-neek or made up, but who cares? I think if you both like it, make it work! And it's def different and I think it's super cute for a girl.
I am not a big fan of boy names for girls, nor do I like the change in spelling. If you go with it, go with Elliott.

This.
Elliott for a girl is NMS.

Why not just name her Elle if that's what you plan to call her anyway? I definately like that much better!

I agree w/others, it looks made up and I'm not a fan of Elliott for a girl.
Even if you call her Elle (and normally I don't think like this) and your other DD is Emma I think that's too similar.
