I can't even pick an emotion for how I feel right now. Disappointed, pissed, upset...
I have a total of 12 follicles. 3 are dominate. 4 are medium - large size. 5 are small - medium. No wonder I feel like I am about to burst!
No one felt comfortable with me triggering, so we are canceling this cycle.
I feel like this just isn't meant to happen for us.
Re: Cycle canceled
IVF#1 gave us a BFP on 8/24/09, DD born May 2010
Surprise, natural BFP July 2012 ended in miscarriage 9/4/12 at 10w4d
FET#1 January 2013
I have had a cycle cancelled before - but for the exact opposite reason - I didn't respond to meds at all.
It totally sucks to hear that you can't follow thru with the cycle. But, I am a firm believer that each cycle is a great way for your RE to better learn about your body and how you respond. Your RE can take this information and create a better plan of action for you! Try to stay positive!
Big hugs to you right now as you deal with this news.
I remember when I was overstimulated and they cancelled my cycle and I started crying in the office. My frustration and disappointment level had skyrocketed, plus all the hormones didn't help.
The positive is that you know that you are reacting to the meds. Try to stay positive even though it sucks!
Thanks for all your words of encouragement. It's definitely helping.
I think I'm taking this particularly hard because last cycle I had to take a break due to 2 cysts. So, I was so excited & optimistic to finally start this whole process again, only to have to cancel
Plus the fact that I am surrounded by pregnant women just doesn't help.
I am going to make the best of this day and meet some friends down the shore. Then drink my face off!!!
12/08 DX - irregular cycles - unexplained IF
2/09 - 4/09 - Clomid, TI
5/09 - 12/09 - 4 IUI
3/10 - 7/10 - 2 IVF
11/10 - Frozen Transfer
3/11 - Dx Insulin Resistant & Hypoglycemic - treating w/ Metformin & diet
I'm sorry
I'm assuming you are doing injects with IUI? Do you have the option of converting overstimmed IUI cycles to IVF?
We decided to put the breaks on our IVF plans and start with injects and IUI and we left the door open to convert to IVF if I am overstimmed. This gave me so much peace of mind. My understanding is a converted cycle (even without insurance) is much less OOP.
Regardless, I'm so sorry that this happened to you.
I'm very sorry to hear about your canceled cycle
I will pray for you. I'm also in south jersey, the mt laurel area if u ever need someone to talk to.
Again, good luck and be strong!
