TJ ended up getting an infection in his foreskin a couple of weeks ago. During this time, the doctors discovered that the foreskin was too tight to go around the head of his penis ever, so he would medically need the procedure. We live in a great area with great hospitals, we are going to go to Children's and it doesn't get any better than that, IMO. He is schedualed for 9/24 and I am so sick over this. I know I should have done it when he was a baby- but I am not a boy so I didn't know this could happen. In all of the research on why/why not I shouldn't do it, I never saw this as a reason.
So my question is how is the recovery? Was it really painful, how long did it last? Anything else you can tell me? Thanks.
Re: Talk to me about late circumcision
I have 3 adult friends who had it done as old children, one as a teen and one as an adult.
They all said they sat in lots of cool baths and recoveery was not fun but are glad they got it done.
Is it phimosos?
The mom's here are really knowledgeable about all things circ and might be able to offer some advice about pain relief and making the whole thing easier on your son:
