Do I get twins now?

DH and I always joke about this.  After everything we have been through, with the treatments, m/c's, and our lives revolving around i/f for some time now, I keep saying that our next pg better (a) stick and (b) with twins .

I know, I know there are risks associated with multiples, but daggonit, going through this multiple times to have more than one seems overwhelming!

Anyone else?

I agree. I could be perfectly happy with Boy/Girl twins and never need another baby OR to see my RE's face ever again.

Yeah- my husband and I (and my parents, too) are hoping that our next cycle results in twins.  We NEVER want to have to go through this again.  It has been such an awful, emotionally-charged journey that I will be more than happy to be finished with.

Me! I used to joke about it too. We used to talk about only having 2 kids so we joked about it being cost-effective. Now that we have to pay OOP for these kidlets it's actually true! I even joked about it to a nurse at my RE and she shot that down real fast with all the risks. But there's still a part of me that wants them.

it sure wouldn't be a bad thing, would it?  one of my BFFs is pregnant with twins right now and she offered to "give" me one if I move to her city   lol!!  made me laugh

we'd love twins.    especially with a first pregnancy.     twins with a second pregnancy might be a bit much, but i'll take them while i'm young and have energy.   :-)

I would love twins. I have that feeling too like I "deserve" twins. However, being up against my beta tomorrow, I'll take anything!!!!!!!!!!

i've always wanted twins...unfortunately it didn't work for us....i still secretly want them although for sanity I think a singleton pg would be best for me this time .....

We secretly hope for them too  I often think since IF is such a hard journey everyone who wants them should get them (hehe)!!  Of course we'd love to get pg with one ... I'll take anything!!  It is just nice to dream of the possibility ... keeps you sane when going through the hard times!

Yep, we feel the same way, too.  DH even asked RE if we could transfer 3 embies instead of 2 and RE said no way!  I'd love to get pg with twins with this 1st IVF cycle and be done with this IF business!

At this point, we aren't even sure we'd try for a 2nd (i'm 33, DH35) and we are 100% oop.

I would be thrilled with twins partially because I just don't know if I could go through all of this again so if we only have 1 the first time, that might be all we have (and I haven't even been through as much as some)

HAHA I would love twins! My RE says it seems to be nothing, nothing, twins or triplets with people that have multiple failures.

Haha, oh, we want twins. Some days. Then other days we want to go hide in the corner at the idea!

 

But twins would mean we'd never, ever be tempted to do this again.

 

As it is, we've been saying if we're fortunate enough to have twins then we'll never do it again. If not, we'll be using any extra embies we might have probably in hopes for a second.

I have always wanted twins. I think it goes back to two of my very best friends growing up were twins and I love the relationship they have. I just think it's something so special. 

Now with IF issues...there's a part of me that wants them even more so we don't have to go through this again!

this is a convo i have with dh all the time. he even asked RE today what was the likelyhood of us conceiving twins cuz he doesn't want to do this anymore.  he's stressed too.  he's so cute sometimes

I want twin too. We just did our first IVF which ended up to be a BFN however, they did put in 3 embryos because I am 38. Next time hopefully we will be lucky and then be done with IVF.

I am a twin and i always wanted twins...until i saw what my SIL went through in her first 3 weeks after bringing home her daughter.  I was exhausted just watching her!  I don't know how anyone could do that with two!!!

That being said, i'm old and we are very, very far away from even having #1...so twins would probably be my only chance at having more than one.  I always wanted to have a big family...so...:-(
