Update on Twins in NICU (PIP)

Hi everyone!

Caroline and Nolan are doing just great! They got taken out of their isolette's on Saturday and placed in a crib together! They are so cute next to one another. They're also wearing preemie clothes now. Adorable!! All of their tubes - except for the feeding tube - have been removed. Their feedings have been increased to 38 mL. Both are now over 4 lbs too! They were born at 3.6 and 3.8. Nolan has grown 1 inch in length and Caroline has grown 1/2 inch. They have been accepting bottle feedings pretty well also. Caroline drank a whole feeding last night by bottle. Once they get the bottle feeding down, they can come home! Right now they are 34 weeks. The doctors think they might be able to come home around 36-37 weeks. It just depends on when they get their feedings down.

We just feel so very blessed that these babies are doing so well. Having them at 31 weeks was so scary. Fortunately, they are doing amazingly well!!

It sounds like they're really quick learners! I hope they're home with you soon.

Once they "get it" with the bottle feedings, they will be home really soon after that. You'll be surprised how soon, even though now it probably feels like it's taking forever. Our girls just decided one day that they wanted to be good eaters, and two days later, they were home.
