what to do with flannel prints?

While expecting DS, mom and I managed to collect a dozen or more pieces of snuggle flannel prints. Nothing has been used yet. Other than pajamas (DS has a drawer full), what can I do with all this fabric?

  • I used flannel prints to make:

burp cloths. 2 sided, rectangle or a rectangle with wider ends (like a figure 8?). Some I made flannel on one side, terry cloth on the other. simplicity pattern #2924, also made the baby-sized boppy from this pattern

Bobby slip cover, used original cover as a template

slip cover for bouncer - simple pattern from mcCalls #4987

I buy the patterns when JoAnns or Hancock has the 99cent sales.

Also used a remnant to make a child-size ring-sling (over the shoulder baby holder) for a friend's little boy when she was PG with #2 so that the little guy could carry around a stuffed animal like mommy carried the new baby.

Married June '03. DS born Jan '09. DD born Feb '12. No, we didn't choose to be childless for the first 6 years, only the first 3.
  • I used flannel to make cloth wipes and CD doublers. I used two or three 5"X 12" peices of flannel and sewed them against a 5X12" peice of terry cloth.
