What do you do to get out of IF funk?

Whenever I am in a bad place my furmonster always makes me feel better.

What are your anti-funk tactics?

Re: What do you do to get out of IF funk?

  • We are currently planning lots of small weekend trips that are on the cheap.  Just good to get out of the house and the usual surroundings together and relax.  I am hoping this does the trick because I have been in a major funk lately.

I also like to think about things I can do after a BFN (like drinking).  For example, I think if I get a BFN I am going to take next cycle off and try and run a 10k, which I've never done before.

  • I also love to watch movies, especially anchorman, superbad, pineapple express, etc.

    and

the snl digital short *** in a box makes me cry from laughing so hard :)

  • Running, snuggle my puppy, a glass of wine, doing things with DH, chores around the house, weekend trips/getaways, time with friends, crafting/card making, reading - anything!

    reality tv

How could I forget this!  My DH got us an extra DVR so I could record all of my "trashy reality shows" to watch after a BFN, when I am in a funk, or when I am on bedrest after my ET.  It was such a great idea!

  • I forgot reality tv...

and of course, retail therapy, although the economy is messing with that a bit!

  • running, spinning, pilates or yoga. Staying active keeps me sane.

The hubs and I go for walks after dinner when the weather is good. And COOKING. I have to focus on what I'm doing in order to follow a recipe so that helps quiet my mind down too.

  • Thank you for asking this! For me, retail therapy (mainly shoes), a massage, and a weekend trip if we can swing it. I especially like going somewhere with lots of stars. I just stare up at the sky and it helps.

Oh, and planning something further down the line. In our case, Mexico. I am on IUI #1 now, and if we go through 3 without a BFP, we will head to Mexico for a few days to relax and regroup.

  • Good post!  Retail therapy, drinking wine, and going out to eat!   We went away to Boston for an extended weekend last year just shortly after my m/c and that did me a world of good!  I wish we were in a financial position to go away recently after BFN cycles.
