F/U: RE appt last night

I finally am back in to starting treatments again.  I went and saw a new RE Dr. Charles Miller.  He seems to be very very informative on whats going on with you and your DH and your bodies.  He doesn't like to do treatment after treatment without first knowing what is wrong.  Granted sometimes you have to try a treatment first... but he likes to do as much testing before your treatments start.  He pretty much told us bluntly that our IUI back in January was a waste of time.  That we need to do IVF w/ICSI. YIKES!!  Oh and that my DH might not be the only problem we have.  My utuerus might be shifted weird and might be a problem there,too. Won't know for sure until next month during the testing stage.

We've hit one roadblock...the specialtist urologist he wants my DH to see is only in 2x's a week Mon & Wed and my DH works 3rd shift and can't do middle of the week appts all the way downtown Chicago.  We live out in the country by Rockford. So I have a call to see if he would like us to do my DH's appts with the urologist we use to see in Elgin. If thats ok then we'll be back on track...   

I feel really happy and good to be with this new Dr.  I can't wait to start treatments again and see results.

Doesn't 3rd shift stink?  My DH works 3rd and spit 2nd/3rd and it has caused a lot of problems with going to the doc.  He has decided to take the day off if we need to see a specialist.  Can your DH take a 1/2 day the night before his appointment?  I know its not ideal but I bet your RE is referring you to this doc because of how good he is.

DH - updated Semen Analysis last one done was in Nov. 2008

ME - Day 2/3 Ultrasound, LH, FSH, Estradoil, Insulin B, outimulener hormone (can't read RE writing).  Day 6-12 Hysterogram - Cultures (watch utuerus location closely).  RE handwriting very difficult to read.

 DH just wants to get this done over with he very impatient and doesn't understand at all.  He's a man.  Plus I think its getting to him about having another child and his age.  We're almost done raising his kids from a previous marriage.  They are 15, 13, & 12.  So we're not done but they are all independent.

i'm glad you guys are doing good with new RE and have a new plan. IVF with ICSI is scary yes.  but as you go through testing and getting to urologist you will have time to get used to the idea.

Got a uro appt with the one we use to have...for next Friday Sept 4th. Dr. ok'ed it to see this one instead of his specialist in Chicago for now.  If DH needs further testing then we will need to see the specialist. So thats cool!
