Re: HELP!!! angry potty trained child!!

  • make her help you clean it up, lol!

seriously, i don't know, sounds like a toddler power struggle.

  • Some may flame me for this. But when DS1 was potty training and he would pee himself on purpose, we would make him sit in an age appropriate time out first. THEN we would make him change his own clothes (he knew how). We knew he did it on purpose b/c he would say "peepee" and then start stripping his clothes off immediately. We only had to do about 3 or 4 time outs before he decided he would go back to using the potty.

  • I would change her without saying a word and said little miss thang into time out.
  • My daughter was PT early -- around 18 months.  Then at about 24 months, she started doing this.  I, too, felt it was clearly on purpose and clearly aimed at giving me the message "You're not the boss of me in this way, Mommy!"

I put her back in diapers and asked her every morning, "Do you want to wear diapers or panties today?"  She said "diapers" or "I don't know" for about 10 weeks, then one day said, "panties" and that was it!  She never had an accident day or night again after that!
