1st Injectibles cycle question

I am getting ready to do my first injectibles with IUI.  The insurance company just called to give me the list of drugs that the RE sent to them.  The list includes Gonal F & Lupron.  Has anyone taken Lupron for an IUI cycle?  Just curious and wasn't expecting Lupron to be a part of the plan.

TIA!

Re: 1st Injectibles cycle question

  • does the list also include ovidrel?    i usually don't think of lupron with IUIs either, but i know some people use lupron as their trigger?

  • Yep, the list is: Gonal-F, Lupron, Ovidrel, Progesterone.

They said the Lupron is to prevent premature ovulation.  I think I have gotten myself worked up about the Lupron - I am really dreading it.  I have heard it hurts more than other injections and causes some crazy side effects.  Dr. Google is sometimes just not worth it!!:)

  • i just started lupron, and its a piece of cake (of course, i haven't had any s/e yet, but the injections are easy, and don't hurt at all).      but its interesting that they are doing lupron with your IUI.   in fact, all the drugs you listed are exactly what i'm taking for our IVF cycle.    i guess it makes sense though!

    good luck!
