I have been preparing DD for the Paci Fairy. Everytime I ask if she's ready she always says no. Last night she said she was ready. I think she just wants a purple lollipop.
This morning she asked if the paci fairy came. I said, "No, you still have your paci. You have to be ready to give it up." She said, "I'm ready. Here ya go." and gave it to me.
I am stressing to her that it's very important that she is ready. She won't get it back no matter how much she cries. She's still fine with it. I told her we would try naptime today to make sure. "Okay." I have been preparing her since Brew posted her Paci Fairy story. She wanted nothing to do with it. What if she is done with the lollipop and decideds she wants the paci back??? I know I won't give in, but do you think she's really ready? Or just wanting the lollipop?
Now DH has to hunt down a giant purple lollipop and a watch.
Re: AH! She says she's ready!
Keep us posted. The Ditty Fairy gave DD a new purse filled with some tootsie rolls and a new necklace and a sticker book.
The first couple of days were rough - I'm not going to lie. Especially at bedtime. We had a breakthrough on the 3rd night.
ETA: She slept with us the first 2 nights of going without it and was in her own bed onthe 3rd night.
