bounce house?

Anyone do a bounce house for a 2 year bday party? If so, was it worth it? Did your DC like it? Would you do it again?

Re: bounce house?

  • My perception is that this is an older kid thing.  My daughter (almost 9) went to a bounce party this summer where all the kids were 4th graders!

On the other hand, with toddlers, it's less likely that kids will get injured because they are so small.  And, although most kids this age LOVE moon bounces, expect that some kids on the guest list will not want to participate.  My DD was scared of moon bounces at that age -- she hated the feeling of being bounced around by other people and being unable to move where she wanted to!

Of course you are because you are so rich and your kids are so spoiled, you little braggart you.  Stick out tongue Wink   LMAO.

  • Yes, yes, yes!  I went to a 2 year old's b-day party last month where ds and the other 2 year olds went nuts for the bounce house.  I couldn't get ds to leave it.  They all had such a good time.  If it's something you can do, I highly recommend it.  All the parents got to sit down and eat and chat while the kids entertained themselves!  Here are 2 pics

  • I just read what the pp wrote about being scared.  DS was afraid of the air pump at first.  It took him a few minutes of watching the other kids do it before he would try- but that's his personality anyway.  He was probably the most scared of any of the 2 year olds and like I said, once he was inside, he loved it.

I do recommend keeping the older kids away when the 2 year olds are in it.  (the pic shows only 2 year olds in it).  One 7 or 8 year old went in it with the 2 year olds and we had to kick him out.  He was so much taller and stronger that when he bounced, he knocked the little kids over.  But when it was just 2 year olds, they had a blast.

  • Okay -- you're talking about renting one.  In my reply above I was talking about one of the "Bounce Centers" where the whole thing is room after room of bounce stuff.

    I say go for it!

  • Yes, Yes, and Yes!! We had a bounce house for her 2nd birthday & I'm really glad we did. She loved it & spent most of the day in it.

On that note, we did take her to the "bounce house" which is a store that is filled with moonwalks and games back when she was 19 months. She was scared of them at first but after about 10 minutes she was running and jumping like a pro.

We have bounce houses at all family parties. The ones with the slides(called combo's) seem the most fun.

    hahahaha youve been lurking!!!

and there's a bounce house at the gym for the kids - they are supposed to rotate 10 kids out every 10 mins. they only rotate 9 bc they don't want to try to get aidan out LOL

and for the bounce centers - they are fun for 2 year olds too. :)
