Re: ~~IVF check-in 8.25.09~~
(((HUGS))) to everyone but especially Brooke & Joe this week.
And big congrats to our BFPs! We need to keep them coming!
So we have to fight it out?!?! Haha! I am still more than willing to take over. And, as previously mentioned will not be cycling again until Nov/ Dec so will be around for several months.
QOTD: My DH just tries to stay engaged and ask questions. He also tries to stay light hearted about everything to keep me smiling and laughing. I have been very impressed with how far he has come since out IF diagnosis! Truly my rock throughout all of this mess!
Status: Still just waiting to start cycling. I got my calendar and we are trying to work everything out so that I can actually start stimming late Nov. We have a trip planned Thanksgiving week that is messing with when my suppression check needs to be. But, it will all work out!
Also, my RE is trying to decide if he wants me to have another lap to clean out as much endo as possible prior to IVF#2. It has been almost a 1.5 years since my last lap and I have been on fertility meds for all but a few months of that time. I should know the answer this week.
I triggered last night and will have ER tomorrow.
QOTD: my husband doesn't find IVF stressful at all. As for how he puts up with the stress of ME during a cycle... I give him extra BJs.
Good Morning Ladies
Congrats to all the bfp's and (((hugs))) to all in need!
QOTD: we are getting ready to start our first IVF cycle. DH is a "keep it in" kind of person which drives me batty. After a meltdown on my part last week I think he finally realized that not talking about it does not make it go away. Stupid men. He has been very supportive of me even though he doesnt want to talk about his dx.
No updates... still just waiting to get this show on the road
TTC since 2008 dx PCOS & MFI
Clomid/Femara no "O"

my blog
(((huge hugs))) to those that need them, particularly Brooke and Joe
lnle- Thank you for doing this check-in for so long. I'm so happy that you'll be joining SAIF (FOR GOOD THIS TIME!).
Update: Nothing much. We're probably going to do a hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy in September and then a FET in October.
QOTD: My husband's job is REALLY busy so that helps keep his mind off it during the day. And he's really supportive when he gets home. We try to do things together that will take our mind off it- go to the movies or for walks or watch something funny on t.v. or cook something together. We just try to keep each other busy!
Update: Not much of an update - I got my protocol - I will be doing a Long Lupron Protocol. Wait till the end of Sept to start IVF # 1
Question of the day: how does your husband handle the stress of IVF cycles? He is actually not handling it very well right now - he is stressed out and depressed about not only the fact that we have to do it but also the huge cost.
Update: DH PESA a success, yay. Swimmers found! And a few were even swimming
They are doing a test thaw today of a small part of the sample and I am hoping hoping it survives thaw. DH does not want to do another at PESA at ER since he is still so sore. I am on Stim Day 5 and excited to trigger probably this weekend. My tummy is getting really sore from all of the shots too but staying positive since ER is soon. I go in tomorrow for another US/BW. Hugs and my best to all.
QOTD: MY DH also internalizes a lot of his grief/concern over having to do IVF/ICSI. It frustrates me but I can see he feels really badly injecting me three times a day so that is something. He feels guilty because of his azoo due to CBAVD and wishes we did not have to go through this he has expressed that much. I am just happy we can. And he is trying to stay positive.
Update- my first beta was 240 yesterday, go back tomorrow for #2. Thanks for all the well wishes.
QOTD- I don't think it stresses him out. he just needs to deal with my stress.
Hugs to those who need them and good luck to those testing soon
update: 3rd beta yesterday was good. have to go in for one more beta later this week, and first u/s is scheduled for 9/4.
QOTD: well, after all that's happened over the past few years, I think we are both fairly jaded and cautious. he handles the stress by trying to take care of me, and distracting himself with movies/TV. It was harder this time around b/c of his back injury - he couldn't be as active as usual and couldn't help me around the house as much.
QOTD: Dh is so laid back it's hard to tell when he is or isn't stressed out. At times is helps because it keeps me calm and at times it makes me more mad because I want him to be more stressed out with me. He is a great support though!!
Udpate: Starting lupron tomorrow for FET#1 Please pray that my two little embies defrost into healthy viable embryos!!
Prayers and thoughts to Annaleigh's family. Congrats to all the BFP's especially LNLE!!!!
((Hugs)) to all that need them. My heart goes out to brooke and joe.
Congrats LNLE and to all the other BFPs!
QOTD: Some days DH handles it great and other days he is ridiculously moody. He mood swings as bad as I do leading up to and during IVF.
Update: I have not yet O'd but according to my bloodwork and 17 mm follie I should sometime in the next day or two. I go back on Friday for another ovulation check and should be starting my bcp Friday night!
Daycare is SO exhausting!
Blog
Can I join? Started BCPs for IVF#1 on August 23.
QOTD: So far I'm going to ditto yodamistress.
Hubs is not very stressed at all, but he does earn some brownie points for putting up with me.
Congrats to the BFP's this week!! Lnle - you've done a great job with the update and I'm thrilled you are moving on to SAIF!!!
((HUGS)) to all who had bad news this week, and especially to Brooke and Joe. What a sad week for the board.
UPDATE: Finished BCPs on Sunday night, go in for baseline u/s & b/w on Thursday, and if all looks good I will begin stims that evening. Yay! After months of feeling nothing after IVF#1 - just numb - I'm getting excited!
Congratulations! Inle (stick baby stick!) & cheekyali (hope 2nd beta triples!!)
My heart aches for Brooke & Joe on the loss of Annaleigh......
QOTD: My DH is the strong silent type. He tries to keep it together for me while keeping his thoughts to himself. He has read the IVF info our RE gave us and has asked a few questions regarding the protocol. So we'll see how he reacts to all of the injections and such.
Update: I should receive my protocol this week. I've been on the bcps for one week so far. I'm ready to receive the next steps to get this show on the road already!
If someone else wants to pick up the check in, that's fine with me. ?My amount of time I can nest varies and I'd hate to slack.?
?
QOTD- DH really is my rock when it comes to IVF stress, he took a long time to get on board with us having to do IVF but now that he is I really count on him to help keep me together. ?The only time I see him get affected is when we've had the c/p and m/c. ?
?
My deepest sympathies go out to Brooke and family and my prayers are with Annaleigh.
((HUGS)) to all in need and HUGE congrats to our BFP's, keep 'em coming!
?
Update on me- I start stims on Monday!!!!?
Congrats to the BFPs!!!!
Update: ET tomorrow!!! Still havent heard how many they were able to biopsy for pgd, so i'm hoping no news is good news and they did all 10. We won't know until we get to the transfer how many unaffected embryos we have, so i'm already freaking out about that...
QOTD: My husband is very laid back...he works hard to keep me calm and positive when I get emotional. I think he's stressed out about everything too, but he knows it's out of our control and so he definitely handles it better than me.
Good morning ladies. Hugs to those who need them. My thoughts and prayers are with Brook and her family. Such a tragic loss.
Congrats to those BFPs. Keep 'em coming. Good luck to all of those with ET/ER and betas this week.
Update: AF is here so I feel like I can finally move on from this cycle. Next RE apt. is 9/14 so we are on a break until then.
QOTD: DH is so great about treatments. They don't seem to faze him at all. That makes it easier on me as I can barely calm myself down most days. I cannot imagine having to talk him down as well.
Congrats to all the BFPs and huge ((hugs)) to everyone especially Millions$$.
Update: Triggered last night for ER tomorrow
QOTD: My husband is a very laid back guy, I honestly don't think anything phases him. As someone else said, more than the stress of IVF he has to deal with my emotional outbursts (which this cycle have been brutal
). He takes it in stride though and is very good about remaining positive and optimistic.
Good luck to all upcoming betas, ERs, and ETs!!
Good Morning!
On BCPs for IVF #3. Crazy to think that. Not much else is going on.
((Hugs to Brooke and Joe and the little ones))
Congrats to all the BFPs.
HUGS to all who need them, but especially to brooke and joe...
and CONGRATS!!! to our BFPs!!! you all give me hope.
update: started lupron on sunday, gave myself the shot last night (whoo hoo!). its really not that bad. this is my last week on bcp, and then i go in for baseline u/s and b/w on the 2nd before getting the green light to stim. why do these weeks seem to be CRAWLING by?
qotd: he doesn't really get stressed. its one of the most annoying things about him. ok, i take that back. he gets REALLY stressed about work, the house, and finances. but if it isn't one of those three things, he doesn't get stressed. he has stayed remarkably level headed through all of this, and i think i owe a lot of our marital bliss to that stability. he does best with hugs and as much sex as we can get it (ha!)
Because we're fancy like that.
I haven't been posting much, but I do check in every once in a while to see how everyone else is progressing. I actually will be rejoining the TTTC board as we miscarried again. This time, it was twins. I had my D&E last Thursday and am still in a fog and always on the verge of tears. We will be doing a FET when my body catches back up again.
QOTD: DH handles stress by working on projects. His current project is finishing the basement.
I am having my lap tomorrow and then hopefully start stimming immediately! Also, my results from IVF #1- BFN!
Question of the day: My husband doesn't really focus on the stressfullness of it... he tries to make light of every situation. When I am crying about injections or crying when I start AF 2 days before my beta and know the cycle is over, he hugs me, smiles and tells me we will keep on trying! He is an eternal optimist and not a quitter! He keeps trying to tell me to learn from him
XOXO to him!
Please addd me back in
2becomes3: IVF #1, on BCPs
QOTD: My husband doesn't really deal. He mostly ignores what's going on. He has a medical condition that causes him some degree of pain all the time and he never complains unless he really hurts so he thinks I should do the same. However, he's very positive that it's going to work so he pushes me to stay optimistic.
Update: I'm on BCPs to shrink a small cyst and then hopefully I'll start the shots on Monday!
IVF #1-4=BFN IVF #5=BFP! U/S on 5/3 revealed TWINS!
Update: I triggered last night and will have ER on Wed 8/26/09.
QOD: This is our first IVF cycle, and so far my DH is handling stress okay. He has been so supportive and been with me every step of the way.
Big hugs go out to Brooke and her family, all BFNs, cancelled cycles, anyone waiting in the long 2ww........, changing RE's, getting a new protocol, waiting or saving $$$$ to start a new cycle etc ((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))).
Question of the day: how does your husband handle the stress of IVF cycles?
He remains positive and tries to keep the focus on what is most important. We talk a lot which helps both of us.
Update: Go for u/s & b/w on Thursday, August 27th--nervous & excited.
Good luck ladies
!!!
Thanks for the good luck wish for my beta tomorrow. And good luck to you LNLE on your next beta. Hoping for over double for you!
Congrats on the BFPs and hugs for the BFN, especially Can'tfindausername. And my prayers go out for Annaleigh.
Update- Well, as you saw I had the positive HPT on Sunday and have Beta#1 tomorrow. Getting nervous for the number...
QOTD- DH is very laid back and he also doesn't show a lot of emotion. He doesn't get too stressed about IVF, he just feels bad for me being stressed and tries to take care of me and bring my stress down. He is very positive and believes if it's not this time it will happen soon, it's only a matter of when, not if.
IVF#1 gave us a BFP on 8/24/09, DD born May 2010
Surprise, natural BFP July 2012 ended in miscarriage 9/4/12 at 10w4d
FET#1 January 2013
Status: Just finishing the Doxy. I got my calendar today with my prelupron check on 9/2 and baseline on 9/10, est ER 9/23. DH got his MESA scheduled today (9/4). I wish the sick to my stomach feeling and the fatigue would go away. I hate bcp!
QOTD: Hubby doesnt handle things like this well. He is accepting at first, then it sinks in and he gets mad and then he is back to accepting.
Congrats to all the BFP's, baby dust to all the Beta's coming up!!
Married and it feels so good!
Good morning! I am on BCP's right now, and I'll start Lupron on September 16th.
The DH is completely stress free. Even though there is nothing "wrong" with me and our only issue seams to be MFI, he is amazingly strong and knows how much I love him and doesn't blame himself for this problem. I'm a lucky girl!
