Anyone NOT able to ttc the month of their lap?

I had mine on CD7 and I usually ovulate CD12 so I wasn't able to ttc this month, and my RE told me to take the month off to heal (I have stage IV endo and they did quite a bit in there).

But now that I have a "window of opportunity" I feel I missed out on the best month to ttc, which is right after lap but before period.

Has anyone else not ttc the month of their lap? Just wondering.

  • I was told to wait until my first AF after my lap. They found mild, mod endo.

  • We had to wait three cycles or so, but large fibroids, polyps, and endo were removed.
  • I couldn't TTC the month of my lap but the month after we TTC like normal and I have Stage IV endo.  Unfortunately, I didn't get PG during my "window of opportunity" and am now looking at doing a second lap prior to IVF#2 just to make sure I am nice and cleaned out.

    Good luck!

  • My lap was later in my cycle, like CD17/18 I think.  We were told we couldn't have sex for 2 or 3 weeks so that ended that cycle.  It's about infections so soon after surgery.  That cycle ended up lasting forty something days.  They found no endo and we got our miracle break cycle BFP that next cycle after my lap, after nearly 2 years of TTC and our last cycle before starting IVF!

I know it's hard, but be patient, especially since they found so much endo.

  • Well, I for sure was not going to conceive the month of my lap with everything they did!  I am pretty sure that they told me that all the endo was interferring with my O, especially since my right ovary was mostly an endometrioma.

I tried this last cycle- the first full one after the surgery- but I don't think it worked. I too was hoping for that miracle BFP, but I guess we are going to go to IUI. Since we also have MFI, I think I might only try it a couple times if it doesn't work before moving onto IVF. I don't want the endo to come back and to have another surgery!
